District 214 Community Education Adult Education & Family Literacy Program
THIS IS NOT A DISTRICT 214 POSITION
As Fiscal Coordinator, this position primarily supports the fiscal activities of the Adult Education and Family Literacy Program, but will also work with other finance and operations staff within the broader Community Education department to prepare monthly reports and projections. This individual will maintain fiscal records for the Adult Education & Family Literacy program's grant-funded programs and manage financial interactions with other entities.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with Community Education, Community Engagement and Outreach Department and District 214 Education Foundation staff to coordinate and streamline finances within and between programs.
Prepare financial reports, budget forecasts and account reconciliations across all Community Education programs and Education Foundation on an as needed basis.
Prepare contracts and payroll for all Adult Education & Family Literacy program personnel;
Verify employee absences, payroll deductions, and substitute pay as appropriate;
Maintain fiscal records for the Adult Education & Family Literacy program's grant-funded programs
Prepare expenditure reports for ICCB, SOS, and ISBE grants and other revenue sources per grant requirements and deadlines.
Assist the Manager of Adult Education & Family Literacy to prepare budgets, budget amendments, projections, and revisions as required;
Manage grant document retention to meet requirements of funding sources
Coordinate workflow and responsibilities with Assistant Fiscal Coordinator
Identify and implement efficiencies to streamline operations
Report to the Manager of Adult Education & Family Literacy and performs other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Highly skilled in Microsoft Office and Excel
Detail-oriented and able to manage workload to meet deadlines
Three years or more experience in accounting (grant, fund or school district accounting helpful)
Familiarity with GATA requirements helpful
Experience with APECS or other accounting software systems preferred
High School Diploma or Illinois High School Equivalency Certificate required
Assoc. in Accounting or similar field preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing, lifting and walking are required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Ability to lift 20 lbs., bend, stoop, and stretch overhead.
SALARY: $20.00 per hour
HOURS/SCHEDULE:
18 hours per week
Monday - Friday, days

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
