After School Enrichment Cooking Instructor (Illinois)

Love the messy, magical combination of children and cooking? Are you passionate about seasonal ingredients and exploring new tastes?
If so, please consider joining us in the kitchen! We are actively looking for high-energy, creative chef instructors to lead children's cooking classes (including before, during and after school classes, summer camps, birthday parties, and private cooking classes) for children ages 2 to 12.
All positions are part-time.
Sticky Fingers Cooking is looking for experienced teachers and/or chefs who have a love for cooking and are committed to working with children in public, private, and charter schools. Chefs work on-site in after-school 1 hour long classes providing healthy and entertaining cooking enrichment classes for students.
GREAT for aspiring teachers looking to boost their resume or for experienced teachers looking to give back to the community!
ENTHUSIASM and FLEXIBILITY are a must for this fast-paced and high-energy environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead pre-k, elementary and/or middle school students in exploring fun & creative recipes
Facilitate mobile cooking classes. Teach cutting, stirring, measuring, and nutrition
Interact and communicate with administration staff
Interact with parents and school staff
Shop independenty for weekly recipes
Qualifications:
Enthusiastic about teaching and cooking
Dedicated to children who have diverse backgrounds and academic levels
Interested in cooking and healthy alternatives to traditional recipes
Experienced working with large groups of children in a school, camp, etc.
Effective classroom management skills, with teaching experience preferred
Punctual and reliable, with access to reliable transportation
Available at least 2 days a week for classes, Monday-Friday between the hours of 2-5 pm for 1 hour long classes for 6-8 week sessions
Compensation: $50 per class and food reimbursement


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
